THEATRICAL INTIMACY CHOREOGRAPHY
Until I started receiving formal training in 2019, I was an autodidact in creating my own vocabulary for crafting theatrical intimacy the same way I would for dance and stage combat. After learning about the new organizations that were further developing and supporting this work, I began intensive training under Intimacy Directors International (IDI), Intimacy Directors & Coordinators (IDC), and Theatrical Intimacy Education (TIE). Part of my pursuit in this work is to learn from as many avenues and voices as possible. To well-round the skills I am gaining as an intimacy director and choreographer, I am pursuing the following disciplines in tandem: EMS CPR & First Aid, Sensory Inclusion Training, Mental Health First Aid, antiracism study, nonviolent communication & conflict resolution, trauma-informed care, and disability advocacy. I am currently on the pathway to certification as an Intimacy Director.
VOICE AND SPEECH
I am a certified Lessac Practitioner, and can help you with the following: public speaking; dialect training; voiceover; overall vocal health for the actor/singer; vocal training techniques; voice and whole body connectedness. I have eight years of experience using the kinesensic Lessac technique for voice and body. Lessac is a therapeutic practice that brings acute awareness to how sound is created and sustained within the body and carried out through speech, so that actors can hone and fine-tune their instrument for the stage.
INDIVIDUAL CONSULTING
The actor's instrument is the entire self - body, mind, and spirit. Whether it's a routine physical and vocal health consultation you seek, or simply someone to keep you accountable, having an acting advocate as an ally can help you improve your craft immensely. Like every discipline that is worth mastering, performance must be practiced and reforged over and over again, as there will always be new opportunities for growth. I am available for individual consults for workshopping audition material, devising your own work, analyzing and performing classical texts, vocal health, and all other ongoing actor training.
GUEST ARTIST APPEARANCES
Whether you are in need of an educator, a director with a nuanced eye, a choreographer with unique vision, a dialect coach for your cast, or a guest artist to visit your classroom or work event, I am passionate about working on projects that connect people and ideas. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, all of my appearances will be virtual for the foreseeable future.
WEDDINGS
I registered as a wedding officiant in 2012 and have since enjoyed working with couples in sharing the magic of their love stories with their families and friends. Because of my varied background in performance and theatre production, I will be able to provide for you a trustworthy and professional experience on your journey into your marriage and partnership. I care about your love story, and have no other desire than to help make the dream of your union a reality.
As an officiant, I provide a unique and personalized wedding ceremony that is perfectly tailored to my couples' personalities and styles. I am available to fully customize the ceremony to suit your desires and needs, as well as address any and all concerns regarding the proceedings for your wedding day.
I will also bring as much humor as you like into the festivities. I love to laugh, and I love a good corny joke, so if you do too, then we shall get along swimmingly. Feel free to request as many puns and Monty Python/Princess Bride "mahwage" jokes as you like!
